Foreign envoys and representatives of international organizations said on Thursday that the Communist Party of China's consistent commitment to serving the people and bringing prosperity to the country is the reason that it has remained vigorous over the past 100 years.

They made the remark when visiting an exhibition on the Party's history at the Museum of the Communist Party of China in Beijing, ahead the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, which falls on July 1.

"From the exhibition, you can see that the CPC has done a very good job in terms of uniting the people as well as putting China firmly on the path of national rejuvenation," said Raja Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, the Malaysian ambassador to China.

Nushirwan, who has met many CPC officials at various levels in the country, said he was impressed by a village Party secretary in Zhejiang province, who told him without hesitation that the village has 1,204 people in 297 households when he asked about the number of its residents.

Party officials' knowledge of the communities they serve and the commitment that they have for the people explain the vitality of the CPC, he said.

Awale Ali Kullane, the Somali ambassador to China, underlined the importance of understanding the history of the CPC in order to understand China.

"Looking at the history of China since 1921, it's difficult to separate any progress from the CPC. Anybody who does that will not get the real picture of what's happening in China," he said.

Jose Augusto Duarte, the Portuguese ambassador to China, said that the capacity of adaptation to the challenges of the times is crucial for the CPC's success.

"The challenges for the Party in 1949 were not the same as they were in 1979," he said, noting that the CPC has shown an ability for evolving and adapting to the challenges of each era.

Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov said when he started to learn Chinese decades ago, he learned a song with lyrics saying that the revolutionary masses cannot do without the CPC just like fish cannot leave the water.

Denisov, who has spent more than 10 years working in China, said that he had personally witnessed how the Chinese people could not be apart from the CPC.

Giuseppe Crocetti, chief of mission in China of the International Organization for Migration, commended the CPC's people-centered philosophy, saying that this is always reflected in any development plan and also in the future direction that China is moving toward.

When delivering a speech at the museum to the diplomats and representatives from more than 100 countries and international organizations, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the CPC has adhered to its mission of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation.

"The huge success achieved by socialism with Chinese characteristics is impossible without the CPC," he said, calling on the envoys to get a better understanding of why the Chinese people chose the CPC.

Wu Li, a researcher with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that as the key figures responsible for exchanges in various areas between China and their own countries, the foreign envoys need to gain a good understanding of China's past in order to better understand its present and the future.
