Park a 'deer' tourist destination in Nanjing
The Gucheng Bay resort, featuring traditional Chinese auspicious animal culture as well as a forest zoo, opened to the public on July 3.
The resort in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, sits beside Gaochun street, one of the best-preserved streets from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
It aims to offer a slow-paced and leisurely experience for tourists, especially those with children.
Visitors can dig into the animal culture and engage in traditional praying activities, such as ringing bells and setting lanterns on the river at Gucheng Bay.
They can also get closer to nature in a 10,000-square-meter forest featuring a variety of animals, including white deer and sika deer, as well as squirrels and parrots.
Pottery art and children's workshop experiences are available for parents to bond with their little ones.
Businesses offering distinctive food and drink are also available.
