Theme park promotes electronic music festival
More electronic music festivals with Chinese characteristics are expected to be staged in the country's theme parks, a mid-July report shows.
Over the past three years, electronic music festivals have increasingly been integrated with culture and tourism brands, especially theme parks, says the report by the Overseas Chinese Town Group and the tourism media outlet New Lyujie.
The domestic theme park Happy Valley has since 2017 held an electronic music festival in its facilities across the country, includingin Wuhan in Hubei province as well as Chongqing and Shanghai.
Last year, Wuhan Happy Valley's electronic music festival drew 1 million visitors.
The music festivals enrich visitor experiences and boost consumption, both of which are appealing to tourists, particularly the young, and are reasons behind the integration, the report points out.
