Beijing Contemporary to return next month
Beijing Contemporary Art Expo, a platform for the art scenes in Beijing and across China, will be held at the National Agriculture Exhibition Center from Oct 13 to 17.
Some 60 galleries will bring works by both internationally renowned artists, such as Yayoi Kusama, and noted home-grown artists such as Xu Bing and Zhang Xiaogang. A Zhongwang section will team up 16 artists whose works will be displayed at the National Agriculture Exhibition Center's public areas to bring visitors unique experiences of the interaction between art and space.
The expo has commissioned Ren Dongsheng a leading choreographer, and Wang Zhiou a new-media artist, to create site specific installations for a Digitalization section, addressing digital art and technological aesthetics.
There will be programs on children's art, cultural heritage protection and public education.
