Over the past 11 years, Sun Guilin has provided numerous bowls of noodles to sanitation workers at less than half the normal price at her noodle restaurant in Shuozhou, Shanxi province.

Sanitation workers only 3 yuan ($0.47) for each bowl of noodles accompanied by a free dish of pickles.

"In 2020, I noticed that two sanitation workers were sharing a bowl of noodles to save money," said the 48-year-old restaurateur said. "Although there were noodles in each bowl, I was sure that was not enough food for two adults."

"They work hard at low income," she said. "So I had the idea of doing something for them."
