Disabled man's return of favor in bitter cold warms netizens
When Zhang Guangnan came to his car wash store in the early morning of a snowy day on Nov 22, he found that the snow in front of the store had been cleaned up.
Zhang didn't know the truth until he checked the surveillance camera. An elderly man with hearing and speaking disabilities braved the storm to sweep the snow at around 6 am.
A heavy snow has hit many parts of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province recently, seriously disrupting traffic.
The elderly man is around 60 years old and makes a living collecting empty bottles and cardboard. Zhang would often save some waste paper boxes and bottles for him. As a "thank you" gesture, the man did the heartwarming deed.
On Tuesday morning, the man came to the shop to clean the snow again. Zhang went out immediately and made a gesture for him to stop, but the senior pushed Zhang inside, as if to say, "It is cold outside, don't worry about the snow, I will take care of it."
Unexpectedly, the man appeared for a third time at the front door of Zhang's shop.
"I'm deeply moved by what he has done," Zhang said. "I will be grateful and do more good deeds in the future."
The story of the shop owner and the elderly man has touched the hearts of many netizens. "Kindness goes both ways," one internet user commented. "They are like warm sunshine in the freezing winter."
