President Xi Jinping and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov exchanged congratulatory messages on Wednesday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Kyrgyzstan, expressing their hopes to further promote bilateral ties.

Over the past three decades, China and Kyrgyzstan have always upheld the principle of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, Xi said in his message to Zhaparov.

The two countries have advanced their ties to a new height of their comprehensive strategic partnership, setting an example for the international community in building a new type of international relations, Xi said.

The development of bilateral ties not only benefits the two countries and their peoples, but also contributes to peace and stability in Central Asia, Xi said.

Emphasizing that he attaches great importance to the development of the ties, Xi said he hopes to keep in close touch with Zhaparov and take the 30th anniversary as a new starting point to enhance strategic mutual trust between the two countries, deepen their Belt and Road cooperation and lift the China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.

In his message, Zhaparov said that in the past 30 years, Kyrgyzstan and China have successfully established their comprehensive strategic partnership, and their cooperation in various fields yielded remarkable achievements that have attracted worldwide attention.

Also, the Chinese government has provided important support for Kyrgyzstan in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact, Zhaparov said.

Thanking Xi for his attention to the development of the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership, Zhaparov said he hopes to work with the Chinese side to further deepen bilateral ties and consolidate and expand bilateral cooperation.
