FM: China, South Pacific countries show importance of cooperation
China and South Pacific Island countries could work together to set a new example for mutual support, solidarity and cooperation between countries of different sizes and with different systems, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday.
"China has been a good friend South Pacific countries can trust," he said at a news conference on the sidelines of the fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress.
Wang said China will continue to treat South Pacific Island countries as equals and with mutual respect and trust, and support them in following development paths that suit their own national conditions, Wang said.
"We will continue to meet challenges together with them through mutual assistance and conduct mutual learning and win-win cooperation with them," he added.
