National Art Museum of China holds solo exhibition for Shen Shihui
An exhibition of traditional landscape paintings by artist Shen Shihui, also a professor with the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, is being held at the National Art Museum of China.
Shen has successfully formed his own style by exploring the beauty of nature in his artistic creations. His solo exhibition has toured many cities across the country including Shenzhen, Guangdong province, and Jiaozuo, Henan province.
It’s the first time for his works to be displayed at the National Art Museum of China. The exhibition which features more than 100 paintings created by Shen over the past four decades, kicked off on Saturday and will run until April 27.
Zhang Fuyou, secretary-general of Tianjin Artists Association, says that the young generation of artists can be encouraged by Shen seeking inspirations in nature and in our everyday life to create artistic works that can be appreciated by a larger group of people.
Shen says that the exhibition can serve as a comprehensive summary of his artistic creations and his study on painting skills. He was born in a picturesque village in the mountainous areas of Henan province, which provided the artistic nourishment for his growth. He says that he also wants to show the country’s achievement in carrying out rural vitalization by capturing idyllic rural scenes in China.
