Sparing no effort to promote music of ethnic groups
To promote the music of different ethnic groups across China, the Chinese National Geography magazine and Eastern Music Culture signed an agreement to become strategic partners in Beijing on Aug 20.
The two parties are working closely on collecting and boosting ethnic music, standardized use of music copyright and cultivating musical talents.
According to Cai Huaye, deputy director of the magazine, they are protecting and presenting the ethnic music culture and planning to host a Chinese National Geography music culture festival.
The music industry promotion committee of China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association founded a folk music communication center on the same day.
Li Jie, singer and CEO of Eastern Music Culture who is in charge of the center, said he hoped to dig out more young folk singers and help them to devote themselves to collecting and recreating their own ethnic group's music.
