MOC: US should stop suppressing Chinese companies
The United States should immediately correct its erroneous practices and stop suppression of Chinese enterprises, a spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.
China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, the spokesperson said.
The remarks came in response to a media inquiry regarding recent US moves to add multiple Chinese enterprises onto its so-called entity list for export control.
"China has noticed that the US has generalized the concept of national security and abused export controls recently, imposing sanctions in two rounds on many Chinese entities for alleged involvement with Russia, Iran and military issues," the spokesperson said.
"The US practices unilateralism and protectionism under the disguise of so-called maintaining international order and national security, to suppress and contain companies and institutions from other countries, including China, and disrupt normal commercial exchanges between other countries," the spokesperson added.
The US moves is a typical act of economic bullying and market distortion, which seriously harms the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, undermines the security and stability of the global industrial and supply chains, and hinders the recovery and development of the world economy, the spokesperson said, adding China firmly opposes this.
