New performing arts season kicks off in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei
Theaters of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province co-launched a performing arts season with a number of shows to be staged in March, April and May.
Supported by Poly Theatre Management, the season will hold over 100 shows ranging from classical music, dance and Chinese plays at six major theaters of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.
In March, the Forbidden City Concert Hall will stage six concerts, featuring pianists, cellists, harpsichordists and flutists. On March 31, Shaanxi People's Art Theater's award-winning play, White Deer Plain, which was adapted from Chen Zhongshi's 1993 novel of the same name, will be staged at Tianjin Grand Theater.
On May 2 and 3, Peacock, a classic dance drama by famous Chinese dancer-choreographer Yang Liping, will be staged at Hengshui Poly Theater. The dance drama will also be staged at Tianjin Grand Theater on April 12 and 13.
According to the organizer of the performing arts season, more than 10,000 coupons will be distributed to the audience, hoping to contribute to the recovery of the performing arts market.
