As a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53), it was announced that a 100-episode documentary series and a feature-length movie launched production in Beijing.

The documentary, Jian Dan Zhong Hun Jiang Jun Pu (Biographies of the Loyal Generals), uses advanced technology, such as virtual reality filmmaking and 8K high resolution cinematography, to recount the stories of how the military generals of the Communist Party of China-led armies fought for the establishment of New China, according to the producers.

The movie, Zui Hou De Fang Xian (The Last Line of Defense), revisits the historic chapter of the Chinese army's fight in the Tieyuan Blockade, one of the most decisive conflicts during the war in the 1950s.

The blockade, which took place in 1951, saw thousands of Chinese soldiers from the 63rd Corps sacrifice their lives to earn precious time for the transfer of various units of the Chinese forces to designated locations and the establishment of new defenses, according to Luo Yuan, a military history expert at the two projects' launching event earlier this month.
