On-site recruitment in Europe, the United States and Singapore will take place soon, as the orchestra starts rehearsals in August. Its first New Year's concert will premiere on Jan 1 in Wuxi, Jiangsu province.
Co-founded by the Wuxi municipal government and Wuxi National High-Tech district, the orchestra appointed conductor Lin Daye as artistic director and chief conductor, with Yin Feng as executive deputy director and Li Shaosheng as music director.
Zhao Min, Party secretary of the Central Conservatory of Music, said at the launching ceremony of the orchestra that the conservatory will keep close contact with the orchestra and fully support its development, especially in supplying talent and artistic training.
