Documentary focuses on elusive snow leopards
Snow Leopards and Friends, a wildlife documentary, had advanced screenings in 10 cinemas across eight Chinese cities, including Beijing and Shanghai, on Saturday.
The film follows renowned wildlife photographer Xi Zhinong, fellow photographer Ke Xuanhui, and three herdsmen, all amateur photography enthusiasts, as they venture deep into the vast snowy expanse of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, reaching altitudes in excess of 4,700 meters, to track the elusive snow leopards.
In addition to snow leopards, the movie, which was prepared and shot over a six-year time frame, also snapped some precious scenes of other plateau animals such as Tibetan foxes and pikas.
With A-list actor Zhu Yawen lending his voice to serve as the narrator, the documentary is scheduled to be generally released across the country on Aug 4.
