When you think of Chengdu, the first things that come to mind might be pandas, hot pot or face-changing theatrical performances. But the capital city of Southwest China's Sichuan province is also a world-renowned powerhouse in the manufacturing industry.

In recent years, "Made in Chengdu" has become a stamp of excellence both domestically and internationally, underlining the city's robust commitment to technological revolution and industrial transformation opportunities, along with a solid innovation foundation and attractive industrial ecology.

Screen products

If your cellphone has a folding function, its display screen likely came from Chengdu BOE, which established China's first sixth-generation flexible active matrix organic light emitting diode production line in Chengdu in 2017 and is now providing flexible screens to several well-known brands worldwide.

The company's automotive display products are likewise expected to affect daily living in the future. In October 2022, the automotive display base of Chengdu BOE officially started production. The project assists the research, design, production and sales of automotive display devices, with its mainline being LCD modules ranging from 5-48 inches. It will be capable of producing approximately 15 million automotive display screens annually.

The Chengdu automotive display base is BOE Technology's largest centralized production base for automotive display products, and in the coming months, will further improve BOE's layout of the industry and promote formation of a full chain layout of panels, modules and systems for the automotive market.

To date, BOE has invested hundreds of billions of yuan in Chengdu-based highlight projects, including a generation 4.5 TFT-LCD and a generation 6 flexible AMOLED and automotive display base. Chengdu is also one of the two major flexible AMOLED technology research and development centers established by BOE in China.
