Netizens cheer for rural student after acceptance into major university

Yao comes from a financially disadvantaged family in the rural area of Mangshi city, Dehong Dai and Jingpo autonomous prefecture. After finishing the college entrance examination, he took on part-time jobs to earn money.

After seeing the viral video online, the teachers at DUT's student services center contacted Yao immediately to learn more about his family situation.

Sources from the university said that the university will provide assistance to Yao according to its scholarship policy.
