CIFTIS to spotlight financial services
The China International Fair for Trade in Services is set to host a special section dedicated to financial services from Sep 2-6 at the Shougang Park in Beijing, said its major organizer on Thursday.
According to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Local Financial Regulation and Supervision, a total of 219 financial institutions and enterprises from home and abroad will participate, among which 99 (52 domestic and 47 foreign entities) will attend offline.
Li Wenhong, head of the bureau, said this year's event has a substantial increase in the number of participating institutions, as well as its scale and impact compared with last year, showcasing China's financial industry's openness and wish for win-win cooperation.
"Participants of this financial services section are from more than 20 countries and regions covering the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific, demonstrating a higher level of internationalization that will further deepen international financial exchange and cooperation," Li said.
As one of the nine major sections of this year's fair, the financial services section has a theme of serving the real economy while innovating for the future. The segment will have a series of activities, including exhibitions, forums, and project signing ceremonies, covering an exhibition area of over 14,000 square meters.
