China Festival returns to Tokyo after three-year gap
Tokyo welcomes the return of China Festival, a well-established event in Japan, during the weekend after a three-year halt because of COVID-19.
With an expected attendance of around 150,000 visitors, the two-day event opened on Saturday at Yoyogi Park, showcasing cultural exchanges between Chinese and Japanese people. The festival features more than 80 exhibition booths for various cuisine and products from different regions of China, as well as traditional Chinese cultural presentations such as erhu (two-stringed bowed instrument) performances and martial arts.
Visitors of the festival were also given the opportunity to experience the latest environmentally friendly electric vehicles from China, learn about the local customs of Yunnan province, and enjoy a blend of traditional and modern Chinese costumes.
