Ren Wanping, deputy director of the Palace Museum in Beijing, said the exhibition marks the two museums' first collaboration of this kind, and the focus on royal court's youth lifestyle has fully considered the historical connection between the Prince Kung's Palace and the Forbidden City.

Prince Kung's Palace used to be the mansion of several Qing princes and princesses after they reached adulthood and moved out of the Forbidden City.

The exhibition runs through to Nov 25.
