Palm-fiber crafts are among the most popular items at the Cultural House, which is, in turn, one of the most popular destinations for Village residents. Wang believes the venue offers an exceptional platform for visitors to explore traditional Chinese culture and for craftspeople to showcase their talents.

Shen said the Cultural House is her favorite place in the Village, and she returns frequently to experience such folk arts as scarf painting and seal carving.

"During my last visit, Wang Li patiently taught me how to weave a small rose, and he praised my quick learning," she said.

"Our training routine is often repetitive. So, coming to the cultural center offers a chance to explore activities that we wouldn't typically encounter and to appreciate aspects of Chinese culture that are usually beyond our reach.

"I find it very meaningful to contribute to the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage."
