Xie Zhenhua, China's special envoy for climate change, held a video conference with John Kerry, the United States' special presidential envoy for climate on Monday, according to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

The meeting was held to implement the requirements set by the leaders of both countries during the Bali Summit and focused on key topics for the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), as well as the practical cooperation areas outlined in the "China-US Joint Statement Addressing the Climate Crisis" and the "China-US Joint Glasgow Declaration on Enhancing Climate Action".

Both sides exchanged their views on the matters and agreed to enhance communication and coordination.

They also agreed to organize further exchanges and cooperation involving relevant departments, enterprises and experts to jointly address the challenges of climate change.
