The International Computer Music Conference 2023 will be held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, from Oct 15 to 20.

Since it was first held in 1974, the conference has grown into one of the largest and most important international academic conferences in the field of computer music, and is held yearly in different countries around the world.

This year, the event is being hosted by the School of Music, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen and the International Computer Music Association under the theme of "the Sound of Changes". The six-day event will feature 20 concerts, 12 seminars, four workshops and eight sound installations as well as two speeches and three lectures.

Around 800 applicants from 30 countries submitted research projects this year, according to the organizer.

"We are going to reflect on the relationship between computer music's fundamental concepts and its various forms, ponder the significance of classic theories and classic works, explore the essence of computer music, and discuss how to meet the challenges and opportunities in this rapidly changing cultural, social, and technological environment," said Ye Xiaogang, a well-known composer and founding dean of the School of Music at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.
