Global participants excited about new biz opportunities at upcoming CIIE
With less than 20 days to go before the opening of the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), the 2023 Investment Promotion Conference in Support of the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held on Wednesday in Shanghai.
Representatives from consulates general of foreign countries in Shanghai, global firms, investment promotion agencies, and chambers of commerce who attended the event are excited about the business opportunities to be offered at the CIIE.
Eddie Yan, managing partner of Deloitte China Government & Public Services in East Region, said Deloitte is to participate in the CIIE for the sixth consecutive year and he believes this year's CIIE will be a more exciting one with more participants.
Yan said during the past five years, the CIIE has provided great opportunity for Deloitte to showcase its fully integrated professional service capabilities, which lays a solid foundation for the company to further promote its digital innovation business.
"Through the platform of the CIIE, Deloitte China hopes to serve more Chinese enterprises going global and help more global enterprises develop in China," he said.
Winston Wu, spokesperson of Allergan Aesthetics China, said Allergan Aesthetics and its parent company AbbVie will join forces to participate in the CIIE for the third time and will display core brands in fields such as facial aesthetics, body contouring and functional skin care and more than 10 high-end products and multiple indications.
Wu said Allergan Aesthetics is scheduled to sign a number of strategic cooperation agreements with partners, and the company looks forward to working together with the industry to create a good medical service environment for consumers.
Luís M. M. Costa, economic and trade counsellor at Consulate General of Portugal in Shanghai, said Portugal will have a national pavilion at the CIIE to showcase its competitive advantages in multiple sectors such as automotive, energy reservation, start-ups, and also traditional sectors including housewares and food and beverages.
"Portugal has been a constant participant of CIIE. We are excited about what China has to offer to the world," he said, adding that Portugal will seize the opportunity to showcase why it is such an attractive destination for Chinese investment.
Zhu Yi, deputy director of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, said Shanghai is currently doing a solid and meticulous job in serving the sixth CIIE.
More than 200 foreign affairs liaison officers will serve the CIIE this year. The city is also striving to improve its services in areas such as language, guest reception, accommodation, as well as voluntary services, she said.
