Xiamen Airlines inks deals with multiple manufacturers
Xiamen Airlines signed agreements with US aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co to meet the demand of the B787 aircraft landing gear overhaul, and it signed an agreement with jet engine manufacturer CFM International to purchase engines during the ongoing sixth China International Import Expo in Shanghai.
The Xiamen, Fujian province-based carrier signed the agreements with Boeing and CFM International on Monday.
To satisfy the need of the B787 fleet landing gear overhaul, Boeing will provide the landing gear overhaul solution with a dedicated workshop based on the landing gear real situation and the spare landing gear for exchange during the overhaul period to ensure the operation of the B787 fleet for Xiamen Airlines.
Xiamen Airlines has also signed a three-year agreement with Boeing, and the aircraft manufacturer will provide customized part packages based on the real situation of the carrier by analyzing the consumption data to ensure the need of the spare parts and help reduce the cost.
Meanwhile, Xiamen Airlines signed an agreement with CFM International to purchase 86 LEAP-1A jet engines for single-aisle aircraft. The engine can help reduce as much as 20 percent of fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
