The US chip company Analog Devices sees big opportunities in China as the country deepens its push to promote digital transformation and new industrialization, a senior executive said.

Thomas Zhao, vice president of China sales at Analog Devices, said the company is attending the China International Import Expo for the first time this year because it sees the event as a valuable bridge for cross-cultural exchange and provides a stage for global enterprises to build collaborative partnerships.

"This year's CIIE is centered around themes such as industrial upgrading, economic sustainability and digital innovation, all closely aligned with ADI's areas of focus, such as our motor control solutions in industrial automation and our battery management systems in the electric vehicle sector," Zhao said.

"China is the world's second-largest economy and looks set to become a global hub of future-looking innovation. China's digital economy is rapidly evolving, showcasing many pioneering applications. We see many evolving applications from our customer-sides in China," Zhao said.

According to him, the vast market size brings forth diverse demands, and China's proactive innovation keeps it at the forefront. These factors create a fertile environment for ADI to create value.

"ADI's business strategy in China revolves around harnessing edge intelligence technology to drive digital transformation and accelerate sustainable development across multiple sectors, including industry, automotive, consumer electronics, communication, and medical and health," Zhao said.

It is worth noting that, through ADI China Business Unit, the company has established a comprehensive China-unique product development system that covers the entire product lifecycle, from definition and design to testing, validation, sales, marketing and operations, Zhao added.

"This capability allows us to create tailored chip products for the automotive, consumer, digital healthcare and optical communication industries, meeting the specific needs of our customers," he said.

This year, ADI is showcasing a rich line-up of semiconductor products and solutions at CIIE for broad applications across various sectors, including industrial, automotive, consumer electronics, communications and healthcare.

"Over the past 28 years since we entered the Chinese market, we have witnessed the rapid growth and vibrancy of China's industries and technologies. This market is in a constant state of evolution and innovation. We have also recognized China's unwavering commitment to advancing its digital economy and achieving high-quality development," Zhao said.

In the future, ADI will continue to invest in technological innovation and make semiconductor solutions more comprehensive and user-friendly on a system level, the senior executive said.
