Aesthetic of technology makes a comeback to the giant screen in Hangzhou's streets
The well-acclaimed Digital Float, a public art project which seeks to re-create the beauty of Chinese art and culture through digital technology, made a comeback to the meters-long West Lake Sky screen over the past weekend, lighting up the urban atmosphere of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province.
People coming to the inspection of Hubin and Pinghai roads every night were awed with a visual journey of aesthetics of culture and technology, titled Tube Echo, as animated works of several artists were projected on the giant screen.
Six artists and artist group reinterpreted the mood of serenity and poetry delivered in the Chinese landscape paintings, or the illusive scenes of the utopian world created in classic philosophical texts, in a way to awaken viewers' consciousness of traditional spirit, which was visualized on a naked-eyed 3D display screen.
The first show of Digital Float was staged in July to gain popularity.
