With the successful application of the new technology, the opening and closing state of GIS disconnector in power grid operation no longer only depends on the single indication of the travel switch, but realizes comprehensive and three-dimensional monitoring of electromagnetic transient and motor power signals, providing a more accurate safety guarantee, Yang said.
It has been learned that the device has been deployed with over 800 sets in more than 20 sub-stations of the 1,000 kV (kilovolt) Huainan Station and 500 kV Exi Station, helping diagnose 12 mechanical defects such as abnormal grounding switches in ultra-high voltage GIS.
