Shandong Port Group marks advancements in building world-class port cluster

In Rizhao, known as the city where the first light of the rising sun appears, SPG has also been promoting the integrated development of port areas, park areas and urban areas. They serve as a bridge and catalyst in driving local economic and social development in Rizhao. SPG has completed and planned a total of 27 projects in Rizhao Port, with a combined investment of 53.6 billion yuan.

In Binzhou, a city situated in the heart of the Yellow River Basin and bordering the Bohai Sea, SPG has completed and planned 15 projects with a total investment of 14.03 billion yuan. As of the end of 2023, SPG had invested a cumulative total of 8.83 billion yuan in Binzhou.

Furthermore, the throughput of Binzhou Port has been increasing every year, evolving into a comprehensive port capable of handling general cargo, oil and container transportation. By 2023, all eight berths at Binzhou Port were operational, leading to a 177-percent year-on-year growth in foreign trade activities, underscoring Binzhou's status as the "northern gateway" of Shandong on the sea.
