Currently, farmers in Zhucheng city of Shandong province are preparing for the crucial spring period of growing wheat and fruits and vegetables. On Thursday, staff members from the State Grid Zhucheng Power Supply Xiangzhou Station visited Xiangzhou town to conduct a safety inspection of its irrigation equipment. They listened to the electricity demands of farmers during this plowing and irrigation season and identified hidden electrical safety hazards.

In Zhucheng, environmentally friendly and convenient electrification equipment is being widely adopted in land cultivation and irrigation. Such efforts are not only reducing labor costs but are also helping to increase grain production.

Since 2023, Tianyijin Cooperative in Xiangzhou town has adopted a digital agriculture big data platform to refine its management mode in the grain planting base. It has been using automatic irrigation equipment and smart sensors that can collect basic environmental parameters such as light intensity, soil moisture, pests, as well as information about leaf temperature and humidity, and stem and fruit conditions. Thanks to this, information can be uploaded to the management system and form real-time data. Based on data analysis, precise watering and fertilization for crops has been implemented, effectively increasing land output and ensuring a bountiful harvest for the crops.

"Through digital management, I only need three people to manage 247 hectares of wheat planting base. I can see the situation of the crops in the field through a computer or mobile phone, which is more time-saving and accurate," said Tianyijin's head.

"Now, we don't need to water manually. With the automatic irrigation machine, the wheat is effortlessly well-watered," said Zhang Shubai of Xiangzhou town.

"The electrified equipment has made our work much easier, and the service provided by the power supply company is also reliable."
