Beijing forum explores synergy between film, culture and tourism
The Longfu Temple Cultural Park in Beijing's Dongcheng district hosted a successful forum on Sunday, focusing on the integration of film, culture, and tourism. The event, a pivotal component of the Beijing International Film Festival's College Film Festival, brought together scholars and industry insiders to deliberate on the potential of film and tourism in propelling industry growth.
The forum, which is part of a series of three discussions centering on film and cultural tourism, film and the environment, and film and dance, aims to expand the influence of the college film festival and foster innovative collaborations across diverse cultural sectors.
The inaugural "Film and Culture and Tourism Boosting Industry Upgrade" forum attracted experts and scholars from film, cultural tourism, finance, and other fields. Their discussions revolved around the integration of film and cultural tourism to enhance the image of cities.
Xiao Xiangrong, dean of the School of Arts and Media at Beijing Normal University and executive deputy director of the 31st College Film Festival, underscored the significance of this integration, emphasizing its role in fostering artistic creations and driving innovation in the cultural tourism industry through digital technology.
During the roundtable discussion, experts delved into the ways in which the amalgamation of film and cultural tourism could enhance urban images. They collectively acknowledged that films not only disseminate culture but also shape the perception of cities.
The forum also featured a special signing event, where representatives from the finance and film industries came together with the aim of expanding the performing arts sector and nurturing a mutually beneficial relationship between film and tourism.
