The late painter Xue Zhiyun ardently dedicated himself to xieyi throughout his lifetime. Recently, the People's Fine Arts Publishing House in Beijing unveiled a collection of his paintings, cataloging his xieyi works within the flower-and-bird genre of Chinese art.
Xue's creations seamlessly intertwined his affection for the picturesque landscapes of his native Anhui province, along with its historical and cultural heritage that has nourished generations of artists over the ages.
This release marks the latest addition to a series of catalogs featuring modern and contemporary artists compiled by the People's Fine Arts Publishing House.
