Beijing and Zhangjiakou strengthen cooperation in sports, cultural and tourism industries
As the host of this year's event, Zhangjiakou has achieved significant milestones in areas such as Winter Olympics venue utilization, cultural and tourism project development, and the integrated advancement of sports, culture, and tourism.
The city has hosted 715 events, including the FIS Snowboard Parallel Slalom Asia Cup, the 14th National Winter Games for Nordic Combined, Ski Jumping, and the 168 Super Off-Road Race, striving to establish itself as a hub for high-end sports events.
By hosting 260 conferences and exhibitions, conducting 92 rounds of themed educational activities on Winter Olympics culture, ice and snow culture, and holding 300 cultural tourism events, Zhangjiakou is committed to ensuring the year-round operation of Winter Olympics venues, thereby fostering the sustainable utilization of Winter Olympics heritage.
Situated in the northwestern part of Hebei province and serving as a host city for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Zhangjiakou boasts a diverse array of cultural and tourism resources. It is renowned as a summer retreat destination and a world-renowned skiing tourism hub. Visitors can explore the ancient Great Wall, wander through the historic Taizi City, ascend the verdant Cuiyun Hill, partake in horseback riding on the expansive Bashang Grassland and enjoy leisurely cruises on the vast Kulun Nur Lake.
