In recent years, the State Grid Corporation of China has intensified its innovation-driven strategy in Suqian, Jiangsu, and has accelerated the growth of the "low-altitude economy". Following six months of meticulous preparation, on Aug 27, the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operation Center of the State Grid Suqian Power Supply Company was officially inaugurated.

The center presently possesses a range of drones, including small and medium-sized models, large six-axis electric power line drones, and specialized drones for fire spraying and illumination. It is equipped to perform detailed inspections of power transmission and distribution, pathway inspections, safety audits, and infrared thermography, among other capabilities. Additionally, the center is capable of point cloud data collection and processing at substations. Currently, the center has taken on professional drone services related to power distribution and transformation. By the end of the year, it is set to complete adaptive route planning and inspection services spanning 1,500 kilometers, as well as data collection and processing services for ten substations, including the 220 kV Liyuan substation.

According to reports, the center will establish "data analysis teams" and "airport operation and maintenance teams" in a timely manner based on business development, so as to continuously enhance the center's flight operation and data analysis capabilities. Additionally, the center will expedite research into "unmanned aerial vehicle adaptive intelligent inspection and defect online detection technology" and "multi-unmanned aerial vehicle inspection system dynamic obstacle avoidance and intelligent coordination technology", aiming to bolster the center's capacity for tackling key unmanned aerial vehicle technology issues and innovatively solving practical problems.
