Huainan-Shanghai UHV AC Demonstration Project operating safely for 4,000 days
As of Sept 7, the "Eastward Transmission of Electricity from Anhui" Huainan-Shanghai UHV AC Demonstration Project has been operating safely for 4,000 days.
On Sept 25, 2013, the world's first commercial UHV AC transmission project with dual circuits on the same tower—the Anhui to East Power Transmission Demonstration Project from Huainan to Shanghai—was officially commissioned. It was entirely designed, manufactured, and constructed independently by China. The "Huaihe Line" is a critical component of the East China UHV network's main grid structure, linking the Anhui coal power base with the East China Grid's load center, and serving as a vital pathway for the Anhui Grid's electrical energy transmission. Wuhu Station serves as the core hub in the East China regional UHV grid's energy channel, handling the energy transmission responsibilities of the half from Jiquan DC and two-thirds from the Anhui to East Power Transmission, thereby playing a significant role in optimizing regional energy distribution.
