The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and Chinese tech company Huawei Technologies signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday for training and developing talent in information and communication technology (ICT) and AI sectors, enabling them to lead the future of technological innovation.

The MOU was signed by Ahmed Awad Al-Ghamdi, head of capacity building sector at SDAIA, and Ziad Al-Rashid, vice-president of Huawei, during the third edition of the Global AI Summit currently taking place in Riyadh.

The memorandum aims to collaborate in building national capacities by training and qualifying Saudi specialists in AI and technical employees. It also includes launching a joint promotional campaign to introduce AI technologies to society through AI publications, social media platforms, and events.

Since its inception in 2019, SDAIA has been committed to building national capabilities in data and AI, positioning itself as the national reference for AI organization, development, and management.

As part of its initiatives, SDAIA has launched training programs and camps to develop the skills of data and AI specialists, aiming to bridge the national skill gap and empower women to innovate and contribute to the market's leadership in data-driven and AI-based economies.
