A senior Chinese diplomat said in Beijing on Saturday that China will continue to work with all parties to seek political solutions to hotspot issues, including the Ukraine crisis, the Israel-Palestine conflict and the situations in Korean Peninsula and Afghanistan.

Vice-Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong made the remarks during his keynote speech at the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, which concluded on Saturday.

"Regarding the Ukraine crisis, China will maintain in-depth communication with all parties to build consensus for ending the conflict and facilitate peace talks," he said.

On the Israel-Palestine issue, China will continue to push for a comprehensive ceasefire and cessation of hostilities as soon as possible, increase humanitarian aid, support Palestine in strengthening democratic unity, and back Palestine's efforts to become a full member of the United Nations, said Chen.

China advocates for a larger, more authoritative, and more effective international peace conference to develop a roadmap and timetable for implementing the two-state solution, the diplomat added.

"We will also persistently promote the political resolution of the Korean Peninsula issue and work to de-escalate and stabilize the situation," he said.

"We will continue to actively support Afghanistan in pursuing moderate and stable governance and preventing the resurgence and spread of terrorism," Chen said.

The senior official stressed that the Global Security Initiative proposed by China advocates for addressing complex and intertwined security challenges with a win-win mindset, pointing the way toward lasting peace and universal security for human society.

He noted that more than 100 countries, international and regional organizations have expressed their support and appreciation for the initiative, underscoring that the initiative has been explicitly included in over 100 bilateral and multilateral documents between China and other countries, international and regional organizations.

"This fully demonstrates that the initiative follows the right path and has won people's hearts, and that China has an increasing number of partners on the journey to building a human community with a shared future that enjoys universal security," Chen said.
