Cultural empowerment: Innovation in immersive digital cultural tourism
A panel talk titled "Cultural empowerment: Innovation in immersive digital cultural tourism" was organized by the Beijing Bureau of Culture and Tourism at Beijing's 751 D Park on Friday as a part of this year's Beijing Culture Forum events.
The panel talk brought together experts and scholars in a discussion on the integration of cultural tourism and technology and creating innovative cultural tourism scenarios, applications and experiences to better meet the demands of residents and tourists alike.
Addressing the integration of immersive digital technology with local culture, Kong Ming, secretary-general of China Culture and Entertainment Industry Association, said that every immersive product should be a unique and customized experience that delves deep into local culture, so as to help drive the local economy.
Drawing from successful case of the lighting design for the tourist destination Datang Everbright City in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, Yuan Bo, president of Leyard Group, said that the lighting effect was designed in coordination with the landscape, commercial street and traditional-style architecture, together creating an immersive nighttime visiting experience.
The host of the session, Song Yangyang, deputy dean of the Institute for Creative Industry Technology of the Renmin University of China, stressed the limitless possibilities in the immersive designs and innovative fusion of digital technology and cultural tourism, emphasizing the hope that these creative ideas will boost the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industries both at home and abroad.
Other experts taking part in the session were Kurt Grotsch, president of Association Flamenco Tablaos in Spain, Chen Duan, dean of Journalism Department at the Central University of Finance and Economics, and Jiang Nan, chairman of Beijing 798 Culture and Technology Co Ltd.
