HANGZHOU, China - Chinese players Zhang Zhizhen and Buyunchaokete both secured victories over their respective opponents at the ATP 250 Hangzhou Tennis Open, setting up an all-Chinese semifinal showdown on Sunday.

Buyunchaokete maintained his excellent form, brushing aside Kazakh veteran Mikhail Kukushkin 6-4, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. This victory marks the first time Buyunchaokete has reached the semifinals of an ATP Tour event, and he has broken into the top 100 for the first time.

"I approached this match with the goal of breaking into the top 100, and achieving this result is a testament to my consistent efforts. I strive to give my best every day," Buyunchaokete said.

After participating in the US Open and a quick trip to Romania for the Davis Cup, Buyunchaokete admitted that reaching the semifinals at the Hangzhou Open surpassed his expectations.

"I never thought I would reach this stage. We must dare to dream. In recent years, Chinese male tennis players have broken many records, proving our strength. I hope everyone believes in themselves and their potential," Buyunchaokete added.

As China's top-ranked player, Zhang Zhizhen delivered a commanding performance, defeating Spain's Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3, 6-3.

Looking ahead to the semifinals, Zhang congratulated Buyunchaokete on breaking into the top 100. "I'm very happy to see Buyunchaokete break into the top 100. Watching his match today, I felt he was playing very well," Zhang said.

In the other half of the draw, former US Open champion Marin Cilic of Croatia will take on American player Brandon Nakashima for a spot in the final.
