Taizhou, Zhejiang: Implementing a new model for waste material disposal by 'turning waste into treasure'
In recent days, staff members of State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company have been using a copper rice machine to disassemble scrapped cables on site in the Yongfu warehouse in Luqiao district. They are innovatively promoting the green disposal of scrapped cables through centralized disassembly and classification in the warehouse, thereby enhancing the disposal efficiency of waste materials.
It is understood that the original disposal method for scrapped cables was to collect and organize them and conduct centralized competitive bidding and auction according to different cable models. With the increase in the amount of power grid construction projects, how to effectively dispose of the replaced waste cables has become an urgent practical problem. State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company has improved quality and increased efficiency in cost analysis. A disassembly area has been added in the material warehouse to conduct centralized disassembly of scrapped cables. After classified disassembly, competitive bidding and auctions are carried out.
"Taking the disassembly of 10 kV 3*300 high-voltage cables as an example, the copper output of each ton of waste cables is about 60 percent." According to Yang Wei, director of the material management department of State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company, the process of disassembling and handling scrapped cables is cumbersome and requires careful operation. Special tools are needed, including stripping the external protective layer and internal insulating layer. After the project unit transfers the scrapped cables to the warehouse for storage, the staff cut them into sections less than 5 meters in length. Through the copper rice machine disassembly equipment, materials such as copper, insulating skin and fillers are disassembled and sorted out, and classified storage and raw material disposal are implemented. According to the current market value assessment, the efficiency improvement rate of classified disposal after disassembly is between 27-30 percent, and the efficiency improvement is obvious.
The quality and timeliness of material supply are directly related to power grid safety and power supply service levels. The material center of State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company has broken the traditional whole-rope competitive bidding disposal model for scrapped cables of different specifications and innovatively promoted the green disposal model of centralized disassembly and classification of scrapped cables in the warehouse. In building a green and modern digital intelligent supply chain, it continuously improves the lean management of scrapped material disposal, reduces costs and increases efficiency, and provides a safe, green and effective material basis for building a new power system.
