Scholars and experts from home and abroad joined in discussions centered on building a global shared future at the Communication University of China in Beijing on Wednesday.
The forum "Dialogue and Development: Building a Global Community of Shared Future International Think Tank Forum" is one of the academic events celebrating the university's 70th anniversary.
The forum was joined by university directors, experts and scholars, think tanks and research institutes from 13 countries, including China, Argentina, Egypt, France and the United States. Li Huailiang, dean of the CUC's Institute for a Community with Shared Future, hosted the forum's opening ceremony.
The forum comprised four sub-forums, highlighting inter-civilization dialogue and the regions of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Twenty experts and scholars joined in the discussions.
Zhang Shuting, president of CUC, said in his speech that the Institute for a Community with Shared Future has become an important think tank to research how to boost the international impact of the shared global future concept, which launched a series of innovative and influential international collaborative research projects.
"In its third edition, the forum has become an influential platform for international dialogue. I hope that through discussions and research, we will adhere to the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative to boost high-quality development within the Belt and Road Initiative and promote the research and practice centered on building a global community of a shared future," Zhang said.
