BEIJING -- Li Yong, former general manager of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), has been arrested on suspicion of bribery, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Friday.
Li's case was handed over to prosecutors for examination and prosecution following the conclusion of an investigation carried out by the National Commission of Supervision.
Li was expelled from the Communist Party of China due to serious violations of discipline and laws, according to an official statement issued earlier this month.
CNOOC, a Chinese State-owned enterprise, is the country's largest operator in the field of offshore oil and gas production.
