The significance of improvements in Georgia’s payment systems was discussed by Ekaterine Galdava, the Vice President of the National Bank of the country, and heads of national banks from various countries in China’s capital of Beijing, the National Bank said on Tuesday.
At the annual international business conference organised by Sibos, a global financial services event, between October 21-24, the sides also reviewed possibilities of sharing experience in securities and money management and topics of “close cooperation”.
The NBG added the Vice President had also joined discussions with financial community and business sector representatives.
The 2024 conference, organised by Swift, a Belgian cooperative society of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, gathered more than 10,000 participants in China and remotely.
Participants from more than 150 countries heard from over 500 speakers and met over 130 exhibitor companies to discuss trade, payments, securities and money management.
