To warm up for the upcoming seventh China International Import Expo, or CIIE, an exhibition introducing Norway's culture and business landscape officially opened to the public on Saturday at the People's Square metro station in Shanghai, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Norway this year.

Named "Hei, Norway!", the exhibition is jointly presented by the Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai, Innovation Norway and the Norwegian Seafood Council, and will run from Nov 1 to 15.

The exhibition showcases Norway as a dynamic and multifaceted country, with a strong emphasis on its vibrant culture, innovative business landscape and sustainable seafood industry. It also provides a glimpse of the Norway Pavilion at this year's CIIE by showcasing some of the Norwegian exhibitors and what they offer to the Chinese market and consumers.

"Norway is a country powered by nature. The exhibition unveils Norway's rich nature and cultural tapestry, allowing the Shanghainese, residents and tourists to experience Norway's unique blend of ancient traditions and contemporary lifestyle, its rich heritage and cutting-edge modernity," said Tobias Svenningsen, Norway's consul general in Shanghai.

He added that the exhibition with combined efforts of Team Norway members and Chinese partners in Shanghai, is a testament to the shared values of the two countries over the past seven decades of diplomatic ties and growing bilateral collaboration.

The exhibition sheds a light on health and life science, shipping, design and manufacturing industries as examples of Norway's innovative business, as well as the nation's sustainable seafood sector.

Henning Kristoffersen, head of Innovation Norway China, shared: "Being powered by nature, Norway is built on equal opportunities. Our story is closely connected to nature, sustainability, and quality."

"The seafood industry from Norway is renowned for the world's finest seafood products, its sustainability and premium quality, a symbol of Norway's commitment to the environment and health," said Bjorgo Sigmund Bjorgo, director of the Norwegian Seafood Council for the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.
