The ongoing 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is an international stage for sharing Chinese opportunities and promoting exchanges and cooperation, said Jin Fangqian, vice-president of Gilead Sciences and the group's general manager for China, while attending the annual event in Shanghai.

The China International Import Expo has consistently demonstrated China's strong commitment to promoting high-level openness for seven consecutive sessions. This reflects China's willingness and confidence to share market opportunities and foster prosperity and development, according to him.

"Premier Li Qiang's speech was inspiring. We strongly feel the Chinese government's determination and actions to promote development through openness and seek win-win cooperation. This gives us confidence in our long-term presence and investment in China," he said after attending the expo's opening ceremony on Tuesday.

"This year marks our third participation in the event. We will showcase our company's innovative products and research to various sectors of society. Additionally, we aim to strengthen our collaboration with local partners, promote innovative therapies to benefit more patients in China, and contribute to the strategic goal of 'Healthy China 2030,'" he added.

The company has participated in the expo for the past two years, successfully transitioning two globally innovative therapies from exhibits to products. By utilizing the "import expo express," they are accelerating their ability to reach patients. This expo not only facilitates the introduction of innovative drugs to the market but also provides numerous opportunities for Gilead's ongoing development in China.
