President Xi Jinping will attend the upcoming 31st Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders' Meeting in Lima, Peru, and the 19th G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Foreign Ministry announced on Friday.

Amid the sluggish global economic recovery and mounting instability and uncertainty in the international landscape, expectations are high that Beijing will use the two significant platforms to provide Chinese solutions to boosting regional integration in the Asia-Pacific region and promoting more inclusive and equitable global governance, observers said.

On the agenda of Xi's South American tour from Nov 13 to 21 are also state visits to Peru and Brazil, where Xi will hold separate talks with Peruvian President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on bilateral cooperation to enhance the countries' comprehensive strategic partnership, according to the Foreign Ministry.

In his speech at the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, Xi is expected to outline China's key measures to deepen reform and opening-up, and put forward the country's proposals for advancing Asia-Pacific cooperation, Mao Ning, the ministry spokeswoman, said at a regular news conference in Beijing on Friday.

China is willing to work with all parties to comprehensively implement the APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040 in a balanced manner and achieve positive outcomes from the Lima meeting, injecting fresh impetus into regional economic integration as well as Asia-Pacific and global economic growth, Mao said.

Regarding the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, the spokeswoman said that Xi's participation highlights China's firm support for multilateralism and underscores its high regard for G20 cooperation.

Mao noted that with insufficient momentum in global economic growth and challenges facing global development, there is a widespread expectation for the G20 to serve as a primary forum for international economic cooperation to bolster global economic growth and provide guidance for improving global economic governance.

She said that Xi will deliver an important speech at the summit and engage in in-depth exchanges with leaders from various countries.

Noting that China advocates for an equal and orderly multipolar world and inclusive and universally beneficial economic globalization, Mao said that the nation is willing to work with all parties to promote positive outcomes in upholding multilateralism, building an open world economy and supporting sustainable development at the Rio de Janeiro summit.

Beijing hopes that the summit will send a clear message to encourage all countries to work together to address challenges and achieve shared prosperity, and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind, she added.
