RIO DE JANEIRO -- President Xi Jinping met on Monday with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on the sidelines of the 19th G20 Summit.

China-Australia ties achieve turnaround, says Xi

Currently, China-Australia relations have achieved a turnaround and are maintaining a positive momentum of development, Xi said.

Xi said he is ready to work with the Australian side to build a more mature, stable, and fruitful comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia.

Xi urges China, Australia to strengthen coordination, oppose protectionism

Xi called on China and Australia to strengthen coordination and cooperation, and oppose protectionism.

Xi noted that both China and Australia are supporters and defenders of economic globalization and free trade.

He also urged the two sides to promote the sharing of opportunities and benefits among various countries via opening-up, so as to realize common development.

No fundamental conflict of interests exists between China, Australia, says Xi

There is no fundamental conflict of interests between China and Australia, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Monday.
