The 12th World High-Speed Rail Conference will be held in Beijing from July 8 to 11, 2025, China State Railway Group announced on Monday.

The event, organized by the International Union of Railways (UIC), has served as a leading platform for showcasing advancements in high-speed rail technology and fostering international collaboration since its launch in 1992. Held every two to three years, it gathers railway professionals and experts to exchange ideas and innovations shaping the future of high-speed rail travel.

As preparations continue, the conference's official website (www.uichighspeed2025.com) was launched Monday. The bilingual site, available in Chinese and English, features key information, including an overview of the event, schedule, call for papers, registration details, exhibition opportunities, and media services. It will be updated regularly with multimedia content such as videos and images to engage participants and highlight conference developments.

The decision to host the event in Beijing underscores China's global leadership in high-speed rail development. The country boasts the world's largest high-speed rail network, spanning over 46,000 kilometers. Known for its cutting-edge technology and efficient operations, China's high-speed rail system has transformed domestic travel by drastically reducing journey times, connecting remote regions to urban hubs, and bolstering economic activity through improved trade, tourism, and business.

Since its inception, the World High-Speed Rail Conference has been instrumental in facilitating global dialogue among railway experts. This year's event is expected to highlight China's achievements as a model for high-speed rail innovation and infrastructure development.

China's high-speed rail network has set global benchmarks in design and engineering, from advanced bullet train technology to efficient management systems. Its success has inspired other countries to modernize their rail systems, solidifying China's position as a leader in the field.
