State Grid Bortala Power Supply Company: 'Live-line + Power Generation' assist customers with consistent electricity supply
Recently, the State Grid Bortala Power Supply Company utilized the "live-line + power generation" operation mode to successfully complete the expansion and renovation project of the 110 kilovolt Mingzhu Substation without power outage. This has effectively helped to steadily improve the reliability of the power grid's power supply and ensured normal electricity consumption for production and daily lives of customers connected to the line.
It is understood that in order to further improve the power supply capacity of Wenquan county, the company constructed the 110kV Qingyuan Substation and initiated the expansion of the 110kV Mingzhu Substation to supply electricity to the Qingyuan Substation. To reduce the impact on production and the daily lives of electricity customers caused by power outages during maintenance and to further enhance customers' sense of satisfaction with electricity, multiple specialties and departments within the company coordinated and cooperated with each other. On the premise of on-site surveys and technical demonstrations, they clarified work tasks, personnel division of labor, operation risk points, safety measures and other aspects. With the use of two 3,000 kilovolt-ampere medium-voltage generator vehicles supplying power to six 10kV lines, seamless load-switching with "zero perception" was achieved, meeting the requirements for safe and reliable electricity consumption of more than 2,500 households in the jurisdiction.
To ensure the smooth progress of renovation works at the substation, relevant personnel were at the site one day in advance to implement safety measures on site. At around 18:00 on that day, along with a clear sound of closing the switch, both of the medium-voltage generator vehicles were successfully put into operation, taking over all the loads of the subsequent sections of the lines. At 22:50, renovation works on the 110kV Mingzhu Substation was completed. The generator vehicles were disconnected from the power grid and taken out of operation, and the lines resumed their original operation mode.
The operation, which lasted for four hours, achieved zero power outages for the subsequent sections of the lines, zero perception by users, zero loss of load, and comprehensively improved the reliability of power supply in the jurisdiction.
