State Grid Bortala Power Supply Company: Green construction makes Wenquan-Horgos Highway construction more 'intelligent and dynamic'
The Moxunshan Tunnel is a crucial passageway of the Wenquan-Horgos Highway. With a total length of 9,300 meters, it is currently the longest single-hole two-way tunnel in the northwest region. The surrounding geological structure is complex and the climate is changeable. China Communications Second Highway Engineering Bureau Co Ltd has invested in building a new 110 kilovolt Moxunshan Substation to provide power supply for intelligent construction equipment such as TBM tunneling machines, dual-head electric vehicles and welding robots.
To ensure that the newly built lines and substations meets the power demand during the peak period of tunnel construction, the company took the initiative to communicate with users. In the early stages of operation, it established a flexible service team for key projects, assembled professional and technical backbones, carried out power load forecasting and electricity consumption analysis and customized power supply plans according to the construction intensity and equipment usage in the different stages of the construction of the highway. It also had in-depth discussions with the construction units on key parameters such as the construction scale of the substation, the capacity of the main transformer and the incoming and outgoing lines. It surveyed the distance from the substation to the construction area and provided guiding opinions on technical parameters such as the length, specifications and models of the transmission lines to ensure the stable electricity consumption of the project.
"The Moxunshan Tunnel adopts the advanced TBM construction technology. From the excavation, shotcreting, support of the tunnel to the muck transportation, we all use clean energy as the main driving force for construction, so as to achieve the goals of green construction, energy conservation and emission reduction," said Su Zeyi, the person in charge of the G219 Wenquan-Horgos Highway Third Section Project of the China Communications Second Highway Engineering Bureau.
